Terms of Use
Last updated October 15, 2026
These Terms cover what you can do with Cloak, what we promise, and what we do not. Please read them. We have kept them as plain as we can.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of Cloak ("the app", "the software"). Cloak is a product of RKM Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16685514), registered office Office 14246, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London, E6 2JA, United Kingdom. In these Terms "we", "us", and "our" mean RKM Labs Ltd. By downloading, installing, or using Cloak, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License
Cloak is licensed, not sold. When you buy a license you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Cloak on the number of Macs included in your tier:
- Personal: one Mac.
- Family: up to two Macs.
- Pro: up to five Macs.
The license is for your personal or internal business use. It is a one-time purchase with no recurring subscription, and it includes the updates described at the time of sale.
3. What you may not do
You agree not to:
- Resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app or your license key.
- Copy the app onto more Macs than your tier allows.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where the law allows it.
- Remove or alter any copyright or license notices.
- Use the app to break the law or to access data you are not authorized to access.
4. Your data and your responsibility
Cloak encrypts and protects data on your Mac. The keys are held in your macOS Keychain and released by Touch ID or your password. Because everything is local and we never have your keys, we cannot recover your data or unlock it for you if you lose access.
You are responsible for keeping your recovery key and your Mac login safe, and for maintaining your own backups. We strongly recommend backing up important files before encrypting them.
5. Updates
We may release updates that fix bugs, improve security, or add features. We may also change or discontinue features over time. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the app working on supported versions of macOS.
6. Refunds and buying the right product
Cloak is a Mac app that locks, hides and encrypts apps, folders and files on your Mac. It does not block spam calls and it does not run on phones. Cloak is not connected to any other app or service with a similar name.
There is no free trial. Cloak is a one-time purchase, so please check that it is the product you want before you buy. We do not give refunds for purchases made by mistake for a different product.
Apart from that, Cloak comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. See our Refund Policy for details and how to request one.
7. Warranty disclaimer
Cloak is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of Cloak. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
9. Termination
This license ends automatically if you breach these Terms. On termination you must stop using the app and remove it from your Macs. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
